A story of nature and design
Emotions, the peony garden
In the countryside in Alto Lazio, at the foot of the Cimini mountains, just outside the beautiful medieval village of Vitorchiano, is the Moutan Botanical Centre with its unique collection of Chinese peonies.
An extraordinary place whose paths tell a family story of nature, colours and a passion for gardens.
Here, on a 15-hectare site, more than 250,000 plants form a successful unique combination of East and West in harmony with native plants such as holm oaks, cypresses and olive trees.
In 2003, the Moutan Botanical Centre opened its doors to visitors who come in increasing numbers from all over Europe to admire the extraordinary blooming in April and May and discover the world's largest collection of peonies.
Thousands of flowers in thousands of shades of pink and intense fragrances surprise guests as they stroll through and explore this unique exciting natural setting.
The Moutan Botanical Centre invites you to love the environment and appreciate the wonders of a vegetation that is both strong and delicate at one and the same time. With this philosophy in mind, the park has its own Colour Café, a small refreshment area that emphasises the lively essence of nature in the colours of its furnishings. Each element has in fact been custom designed, inspired by the nuances of the most beautiful peonies and other fascinating blooms, such as wisteria or plumbago, that characterise the Moutan Botanical Centre.
This unique place, with its wealth of shapes and colours, inspired Flower, the first collection by Ethimo and led to a company that turned the indissoluble bond with nature into one of its founding values. The brand, present in more than 70 countries, today tells the story of an idea of quality outdoor living that blends seamlessly with the plant world and the landscape, without ever losing sight of its origins.
